1 - Where and when can I register?
You can register online for all events until Midnight May 24th , 2024. Registration also open for all races at the expo on May 25th.
2 - I'm injured or otherwise unable to attend, can I have a refund?
We have a no refund policy for all events.
3 - Can I defer my entry to next year?
No. We are unable to handle that request
4 - Can I change events?
We do allow some event switching. Contact the Registration Director for assistance
5 - Are there any age restrictions?
Age Requirements
While we do not have any official age restrictions in our events many races do not permit runners under 16 years of age to participate in the full marathon. We require a parent or guardian signature for runners under the age of 18 in all our events. If you register online ticking the Yes box to the waiver payment by credit card has satisfied us that a parent or guardian has approved the registrants choice of distance. If you register manually there is a line included for a parent or guardian signature if the applicant is under the age of 18.
6 - Where and when is packet pickup?
Packet pickup is at the Race Expo on Saturday May 25 from 9am - 3pm (École Secondaire Du Sacré-Coeur, 261 Notre Dame Ave, Sudbury ON) and at Tom Davies Square 200 Brady St. for the FREE Kids 1k and the 5k only ON Sunday race morning. (Emergencies only. Please attempt all pick ups on Saturday)
7 - What is in the race packet?
* your bib number with timing chip
* your run T-shirt
* Remember, you need to bring your ChampionChip timing chip with bib number to participate on run day.
Note: You can keep our NEW ChampionChip timing chip as a souvenir
8 - Can I pick up my friend's run packet? Can someone pick up my packet?
Yes but you must provide ID.
9 - Do you have a walking section in your events?
Walkers are enthusiastically welcomed in all of our events except the Marathon Relay. There are no specific awards for walkers due to the size of our event. Note: The roads are not closed by the police during the first 2 hours (6am - 8am) of the marathon walk. The course will be marked and pyloned.
10 - Where are the aid, water stations and toilets located?
Water and sport drink stations will be available at approx. every 2k along the course as well as at the Finish.
There are port-a-potties located at every water station along the course.
11- Are the kilometres marked?
Yes, each kilometre will be marked along the route.
12 - Where does my event start?
All events start and finish on Minto St beside Tom Davies Square at 200 Brady St Greater Sudbury
13 - Is the marathon a Boston qualifier?
Yes, both the 1/2 marathon and the marathon are certified (see Race Information page). Completing the SudburyRocks!!! Marathon in your allotted time will qualify you for the Boston Marathon.
14 - Can I have a pacer on course?
Only if the pacer has registered for the same event. No runner may be paced by a cyclist.
15 - Are cyclists allowed on the route?
No. only official vehicles including bikes are allowed on the course for safety concerns.
16 - Are baby joggers allowed on the course?
Yes but race organizers request that participants using baby joggers please start towards the back of the pack for safety concerns.
17 - Are headphones allowed on the course?
Race organizers discourage the use of headphones for safety concerns but we do not ban them. Please use them in a safe manner with volumes adjusted to allow awareness of your surroundings.
18 - Can my dog or pet accompany me on the race course? Are there other restrictions?
The following items are not permitted in the SudburyRocks!!! Race, Run or Walk for Diabetes: pets, animals, skateboards, bicycles, roller blades, motorized chairs or any other types of vehicles (other than official Race vehicles).
19 - When, where and what are the awards?
Finisher medals will be distributed to each participant upon completion of their event. This will take place at the Finish Line at Tom Davies Square 200 Brady St. Relay finisher medals for all members of the team will be given to the final participant of that team. 5k and 10 awards will be held at 10:30am. See Awards and Medals for details. The 1/2 Marathon, Marathon and Marathon Relay awards will be held at 12:30pm. See Awards and Medals for details.
All age and gender category medals (1, 2 and 3 place) will be mailed to the recipients.
20 - Are results posted?
Results will be posted on our Results Page on race day
21 - Are there finish line photos?
We do not have an official photographer for our event. See the Photos Page as we do snap a few photos
22- Is there an expo? When? Where? What?
Yes, the Expo will be held from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm (École Secondaire Du Sacré-Coeur, 261 Notre Dame Ave, Sudbury ON). The expo showcases the Running Room and many vendors who are associated with running and such activities in some way.This is also where you pick up your Race Packet, (t-shirt, number with chip) if you are participating in the event.
23 - Is there a Pasta Dinner?
No. There is no pasta dinner this year.
